Stone circles, ~3m in diameter, that form spontaneously due to freeze/thaw processeson Spitsbergen.

The geomorphology research group studies landscape evolution and landscape forming processes, with emphases on fluvial, tectonic, hillslope, and climatic geomorphology. Active projects are ongoing in the Pacific Northwest, Tibet, Taiwan, Antarctica, and South America.
