Learning Goals
By the end of the class students will be able to:
- Understand and interpret topographic, geologic maps and cross sections
- Explain and understand how surface processes change and influence erosion and weathering
- Use a brunton to take strike and dip of a geologic feature
- Be able to use the Coulomb equation
- Understand how earth materials behave under different conditions of temperature and pressure (brittle, elastic, viscous)
Other Info
There will be one optional field trip in early October to help illustrate the class materials and introduce you to field geology. This is a weekend trip to the Columpia Plateau with overnight camping.
