Education:
Sian Davies-Vollum has a BA and Ph.D. in Geology from Oxford University, and an M.Sc. in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London.

Current Research Interests:
Her research focuses on sedimentology of fluvio-deltaic environments and the plant-based material that they preserve, but she has also worked on interdisciplinary projects based in the Puget Sound. She has conducted field research in North America and Europe, most recently in the East Midland coalfields of England. She is also interested in science pedagogy and has published a number of papers in this field.
